Get Involved
There are plenty of ways to get involved in our festival!
Directing
Around October/November every year we open submissions for Director Pitches. This is a chance for aspiring directors to get a chance to pitch concepts for a play that they want to put on in the next summer season. This can be either an experimental piece (original writing or a new take on a play by Shakespeare) or one of the known, 37 Shakespearean plays. We will also consider well thought out pitches of related works. Find out more information through our What's On? page, or any of our social media pages!

Acting
We hold auditions for parts in the five selected productions every Spring. Information for this shall be frequently updated on all social media platforms so follow us there to keep notified. These are for people who are new to performing Shakespeare as well as people who have previous experience. We welcome everyone, and remember that every single auditionee will get a part in the Festival, regardless of experience.

Artists
We hold a competition for a community artist to design our posters for the next season of shows coming up! Keep an eye on all our social media platforms to stay informed about the new opportunity! This normally happens over November and December.

Production
We are always on the hunt for people wanting to be involved with production. If you are interested in assistant directing, production management, costumes and/or makeup, do drop us an email at info@canterburyshakespeare.co.uk and let us know!
